Texas Brownies
1 lb. margarine
4 Tbsp. cocoa
Melt margarine. Add cocoa and
bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and cool. Mix in large bowl:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 pint sour cream
Add chocolate mixture and 1 cup
water. Beat on medium
speed until well blended. Add 1 teaspoon soda and blend
well. Pour into 1 large cookie sheet ( with sides) or two
9 by 13 inch pans. This makes 48 two-inch squares.
Frosting:
1Cube margarine
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 cup milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Bring margarine and cocoa to a
boil. Add milk, powdered sugar
and vanilla. Beat with mixer until smooth. Spread on brownies
while warm. Sprinkle with nuts (optional).
